DAV Police Public School, Punchkula  conducted an awareness programme on  road safety in association of    Transport Department and Police departmen, Panchkula for students and residents of Police Lines campus. 'Sadak Surksha Sanskar Yatra' is an effective initiative under guidance of Shri Abhitab , Commissioner Transport, ,Shri Saurabh Singh, Commissioner of Police and Shri Mohit Handa, Deputy Commissioner of Police and under supervision of Shri Mukesh Sherwat, District Inspector ,Transport. The program aims to create awareness on road safety and traffic rules through theatre .The artists from Suruaat Samiti performed an awakening performance under guidance of Ms. Rita Ranjan with theme of 'Yamraj Jeevan Daan Yojana Dot Com'. They presented the current issues regarding road accident , people,'s attitude and role of responsible citizens.  Shri Rajkumar Kaushik ,Chief guest of the event inspired the young minds with his experience sharing .He disclosed that about 1.5 lakhs people loose their lives in a year in road accidents. He emphasised on disciplined life and role of youth in creating a better society to live. He also encouraged the students to develop interest in various art form along with academic.Shri Mukesh Sherwat, District Inspector , Transport, stressed on accident free childhood.

Mr. Sukhdev,SHO , Transport  also shared information with students on safety rules and legal consequences . Ms. Upasana Sharma , Headmistress of the school proposed vote of thanks to  the entire team of Police department  and Suruat Samiti for making the event a success.
